Halloween is Redundant this Year

AI says: If something is redundant, it is unnecessary because it is repetitive, no longer needed, or has been made obsolete by other elements.

I always liked Halloween and spent a crazy amount of time making costumes for my kids – I think the bunch of grapes was one of the best, but she had trouble sitting in class because the purple balloons presented a problem. And my kids complained that I ate too much of their candy. Oh well, nothing’s perfect.

That was then. This is now, and Halloween has become redundant, unnecessary. Why? The holiday traditionally consists of people running around in costumes, often sci fi-ish, looking scary, approaching strangers and demanding ‘trick or treat’, and then running away to the next stranger’s house to make similar demands. It’s a candy round-up. Sometimes there is screaming for effect. A few in the mob carry swords, light sabers, or other threatening implements.

I know I don’t have to go further to explain my thinking but of course, I will.

Halloween has been happening for months. We already have grown men and women roaming our streets in outfits and masks. They are very, very, scary. They visit houses and shops in my area with more tricks than treats. They make demands and it isn’t for bite size Snickers bars. They want my neighbors. Are they carrying swords or light sabers? Unfortunately, no, they are carrying weapons that are a thousand times worse.
