3 Essential, Sure-Fire Tips for Blogging

I’ve been blogging for about six months, and I’m enjoying it, except for when the posts failed to send, and it took a month to talk to a real person - but I'm trying to stay positive. I decided it was time to read up and learn how to ‘blog like a pro’, even at my age. There’s a lot of material out there, but I found consensus about blogging essentials.
The first pointer is to make lists. All the advice says readers are attracted to lists, ergo the title (adding the words ‘essential’ and 'sure-fire' was my idea; it gives the post some urgency, right?).
Anyway, what I learned AGAIN, is to consume information judiciously because a lot of it is goofy beyond words. Aging has benefits - I've learned a lot, whether I wanted to or not. AND NOW, I’m saving you precious time with my personal, just for you, 3 tips about blogging:
1. Don’t read up on blogging (except for the technical details) because most of the advice is silly. They offer tips like ‘Grammar is important; remember to spell words correctly and use commas appropriately.’ My third grade teacher from Horace Mann Elementary School in North Bergen is spinning in her grave. I’m spinning and I don’t have a grave yet – I’m opting for an urn, but that’s another conversation which we will have one of these days.
2. There is a popular slogan, ‘content is king’. Wow. Isn’t that the same as, ‘if you don’t have anything to say, be quiet’ (obviously, I give myself a pass on that one). There's a lot of nothing out there.... But if content is king, maybe we can decide that humor is queen, and brevity is duchess. Anyway, this leads us to the final tip…
3. In spite of mounds of information available, I don't think people pay much attention to facts. People always seem to do what they want (and make excuses later). You might call it stubborn. I’m feeling generous, so I will call it authentic, another popular concept that I used to appreciate but presently, it has run amok.
Here's a bit of info. Not The Trip We Planned has a blog in it; guess who writes it? I've been suspicious of the authors because neither Carol or Linda consulted me before sticking us in their book, but... other authors seem to be okay with them. For example,
“Chickie and Maddy feel like old friends, and I’ll take a trip with them—planned or unplanned—anytime, no questions asked.” Molly Macrae, award winning author of the cozy mystery Highland Bookshop series, the Haunted Shell Shop series, and Crewel and Unusual.
So excited for the books release!!!
