5 Lessons from Protest Participation

This isn’t going to be political, so all sides can continue reading peacefully. This morning's post is an entirely sociological observation.
When you show up at a protest, yes, you believe in the cause, but it’s better if you heed the following, so:
1. Bring a sign. Homemade is best. People stop and take your picture. You will feel clever. Maybe you will make a friend or find your picture in the local paper.
2. The noise is chaotic. Relax, it isn’t just aging – no one else can hear what the speakers are saying.
3. Make the sign double sided – the people behind you are also bored because they can’t hear anything either.
4. Get yourself into the right frame of mind; you are supporting a cause. If you want entertainment, watch The Diplomat (watch it anyway).
5. Don’t expect to find your friends. They are also shrinking and, in case you haven't noticed, your elderly friends look a lot like the 10,000 others standing around.
If you didn’t follow these suggestions at the last protest, don’t worry. You will have many more opportunities………..
Loved this!
Chickie's posts always make me chuckle!
