Relax, this isn't a post about capital punishment.

Once again, I am here to make your life more enjoyable. Today we will do a ‘deep dive’ (one of my least favorite phrases in the entire world) into the question that you have all been discussing with your therapists, clergy and the two saleswomen left at the local department store. That list may not be complete; I’ll bet there is chat room or forum devoted to this topic. Let's go. Today we join the essential discussion of…….

Should You Hang Or Fold Sweaters?

I confess. I have done both unsuccessfully. I have ruined sweaters with my hanging techniques and crumpled them into unrecognizability with my ‘stuff them in a drawer and slam it shut with a bit sticking out’ technique (maybe I’ll do a video of that; it’s a thing of violent beauty). Therefore, I come to this problem with an open mind. Perhaps together, we will find an answer. I did consult AI because AI is filled with advice on irrelevant shit that I care about. I will present the arguments................

Hang your sweaters because they will be:

*Convenient and visible, all right there in one glance. No rooting through the drawer like a truffle hound to find the forgotten one crumpled at the bottom for three years.

*Accessible. Just grab one.

*Wrinkle free. Unfortunately, without wrinkles, I will be unrecognizable. For those of you who do not know how to iron, this is your solution.

*Fresher since air can circulate around the sweaters unless your closet is as cramped as your drawers.

*And you will have more room in the drawers – so you can cram in other shit.

                                                  HOWEVER

Other wardrobe experts recommend Fold your sweaters because:

*They will not stretch. Gravity doesn’t just affect your body and apples; it’s true for sweaters, too.

*They will not have those bumps that look like tiny wings on your shoulders.

*They can snuggle with other sweaters in the dark drawer during the cold winter.

*And you will have more room in your closets.

I'm pro-choice. It's up to you.

As a bonus for all you tolerant Chickie’s blog readers, I have included a video link to a segment on the Today Show that demonstrates how to hang sweaters properly. It is shocking that a major TV show devotes time to this topic.

The holidays are coming. Not The Trip We Planned (the title gets more prescient every day) is the perfect hostess gift for Thanksgiving AND who wouldn't want to see it in their stocking or under their menorah for the December extravaganzas!
